This Mach 1, equipped with a 4-speed transmission and a Ram Air air intake, was born on November 14, 1968 in the Metuchen factory. It was first sold on November 18, 1968 by Fette Motors in New Jersey, although the original owner unfortunately remains unknown. The vehicle then passed into the ownership of a Belgian before being taken over by the next owner, a Frenchman near Paris.

In 2001 I came across this car through a small advertisement and brought the Mustang from France to Switzerland. I have been looking after it for 23 years now and have carefully restored it to its original condition.

The R-Code marking refers to the air intake, which only serves a practical function in this model. The air intake allows the engine to absorb cool outside air, effectively increasing performance.

The 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 marked a significant era in muscle car history. In the 1950s, as America entered the jet age, it was all about who could fly faster and higher, who had the courage to push new boundaries. A decade later, in the muscle car era, it was all about who was faster and more skilled on the track, who had the ability to set new records on the drag strip.

The Mach I broke all records and was considered the fastest production vehicle ever tested by Car Life. The official power rating was 335 hp, but this number was given for insurance reasons. In fact, the Mach I had a much higher output of more than 400 hp.
